My Miss New York Business Plan

The focus of my business plan as Miss New York is on financial and organizational growth. I have set a goal of raising $75,000 by next year's state competition. It's ambitious, but here in New York, we like to dream BIG!

My plan is based on a proactive strategy to build a solid financial foundation that is supported by a combination of large financial donors and smaller (but just as important!) sponsors. Proactivity is necessary in creating relationships and promoting partnerships across New York State which is why, in my first two months of being Miss New York, I will be undertaking a tour across New York to meet with various Chambers of Commerce and their members to continue fostering relationships and connections. Leveraging my professional network that I have built after two years working professionally in NYC before and during law school, we can get the Miss New York brand in front of companies that it has never been before.

My Social Impact Initiative, You Go Girl, is a marketable initiative that aligns me and this organization with the multi-billion dollar sports industry. With many companies and organizations looking to promote the continued participation of girls in sports, they want to support the groups and individuals who are doing this work. By hosting field days and community sporting events, we can work with these companies and brands and continue to build crucial relationships. Already, I have received interest from professional sports teams, major athletic brands, and national non-profits.

Balancing School, Volunteering, and Miss New York

Having spent my first year working a 40 hour weeks while simultaneously taking law school classes at night, I am used to a heavy workload and the necessity of time management. As a third-year law student, I have the flexibility to set my schedule and organize my classes in order to make the time to be fully dedicated to my job as Miss New York. This past spring, I loaded up on credits in order to make my course load as a third-year law student lighter and more suitable to a role as Miss New York.

I have organized the timeline of my business plan to be compatible with my summer work schedule, and I am lucky to have the full support of my employer in pursuing my goals as Miss New York.

As a volunteer, my coaching is integral to my Social Impact Initiative and the job of Miss New York. I will continue to coach and continue to inspire girls on and off the field.
