Coach. Law Student. Volunteer. Titleholder.

Hey there, I'm Sydney, and I'm a local titleholder in the Miss New York Organization, a state preliminary to Miss America! This May, I'll be competing for the coveted job of Miss New York and the opportunity to compete at the 100th Miss America competition in Uncasville, CT.

An advocate for increasing girls' participation in sports, I am a youth soccer coach and volunteer for South Bronx United. For the past few years, I have spent every Saturday morning in the Spring and Fall up in the Bronx coaching, and I'll be taking on an additional role as a coach with the New York Football Club (NYCFC) "Saturday Night Lights" program to help girls in Harlem gain access to the world's most loved game! I graduated from Columbia University in 2018 with a degree in American Studies. As a student at Columbia, I was the Head Manager of the Columbia Men's Basketball Team and served as the Editor-In-Chief of the 170th Edition of Columbia's yearbook, The Columbian. Following graduation, I worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom as a Litigation Legal Practice Assistant, working with a variety of attorney teams in myriad practice areas. I then transitioned to a business development role at Sullivan & Cromwell, where I concurrently attended evening classes as a first year law student at Fordham Law. Now, I am a full-time law student entering my third year at Fordham and have had the opportunity to intern at the New York State Supreme Court in the chambers of Justice Andrew Borrok and Justice Joel Cohen. As a student, I was a staffer on the International Law Journal and the co-chair of the Fordham Business & Law Association's Outreach Committee, where I created and produce the student group's first podcast "FBLA in Conversation." This summer, I will be working at BakerHostetler LLP as a summer associate where I will have the chance to explore many different practice areas and legal topics!

 

Outside of work, school, and coaching, I'm a volunteer with Candlelighters NYC, a childhood cancer foundation that supports children with cancer and their families through all stages: from discovery to remission.
